Most of these pieces were done either in Greensboro, NC after I graduated from UNC-G, or in the mountains of North Carolina where my family has lived for generations. At this time I was very influenced by the other students at UNC-G and by my love of Impressionist painting. Also highly influential was a 2-month trip to Europe in the fall of 1978 to see the great works of art. Sizes are approximate - all are oil on canvas, pencil or conte on paper unless otherwise indicated.
